El Salvador's international airport of Comalapa ( SAL ) is not located in San Salvador city, many browsers find this airport at San Salvador city but is located 40 minutes south from the city, there are not buses services at the airport and all visitors will need private transportation, taxi service and cars rentals are available. There are many places where you can stay, but because is closer from the international airport and in the middle of the country where you have most of the basic services San Salvador city or the beaches of La Libertad are the best places where you can stay. if you are coming for holidays probably La Libertad beaches are the best, because the enviroment is more for travelers, restaurants and hotels infront of the ocean, for business travelers probably the Capital city of San Salvador is the right place to stay. For transportation and hotel reservation is much better to do it in advance.
HOW TO MOVE AROUND:.
The bus service is very cheap but also very basic, we suggest to contact a tour operator company before to check your options according with your needs and expectatives, buses not connect the different touristic areas and destinations, making a hard country for bus travelers, taxi drivers companies are available everywhere since the airport but to have a bilingual guide will make your holiday much easier with a safe felling.

The local currency is the US dollars, there are ATM available everywhere in the country where you can cash US dollars, all the stores and services will need to be payed with US dollars.
HOW IS THE WEATHER:.
The weather in El Salvador it will depends of where you go, we have several type of weather from sunny summer time at the beach and some towns with 28C to 36C, at the city the weather is realative nice around 26C to 30C and at the mountains and higher areas a great weather around 15C to 26C. The dry season is from the months of November to May and the rain season are since May to October, at the beach the rains are just during the nights and hard during the end of the rain season at the months of August, September and October. At the mountains the rain season is stronger and you can find rains during the days too.
DO I NEED A VISA:.
Visa is requerid depending of the country where the visitor is. from Central American countries is not required, but the VISA is extended right at the airport when you arrive and the cost is US$10 per visitor. you can visit the website of migration goverment office for more details of the countries that need a consulate visa that is requeried in advance.
IS IT EASY TO TRAVEL JUST SPEAKING ENGLISH?
Tha national lenguage is Spanish and it will be hard to find people that speak english, just at the beach areas where you find more international tourism are more used to speak english thanks to all the surf destination of the country, but besides this beach areas it will be hard to find people that can hold a conversation in english, at different areas in the city like at night clubs for middle class young persons is more comun to find people that understand english.
